I’m 64 (almost 65) I have COPD a heart murmur and possibly a pheochromocytoma, I work 30 hours a week and am obese and not at all fit. I now have 2 choices in life – sit back and do nothing and die youngish in an unpleasant way or I can fight back.
This is the start of the fight back, I joined the gym so now have access to all manner of exercise equipment and swimming.
Hopefully once I start exercising on a regular basis again I will enjoy it as I used to. I started running at 55, and then I got complacent , I lost 5 stone in weight, was running 5k’s at the gym 5 days a week, rowing, treadmill and strength, felt great, looked good and stopped doing all of the above.
I am a person that is driven by goals, targets, I love spreadsheets and measurements, so that is the next job: measure and weigh myself, set up spreadsheet to monitor and keep a log of exercise activities and my mood and how I feel healthwise.
